Risk comes first

CFDs use leverage and can cause substantial losses. Margin is collateral, not the maximum amount that can be lost.

EXNESS / PRODUCT GUIDE

CFD Hedging Strategies with Exness

Opening an opposite CFD does not erase the first trade. It creates two positions, two cost streams and an unhedging decision. Exness may apply 0% margin to the fully matched portion, but this does not make the hedge free or eliminate account equity risk.

Cost ledger

Add spread and commission for both legs, plus swap/admin fees while held. A locked price difference can still deteriorate through ongoing costs and currency conversion.

Unhedging checklist

  1. Choose which leg closes first.
  2. Recalculate net exposure.
  3. Recalculate required margin/HMR.
  4. Check spread/session.
  5. Set SL on remaining leg.
  6. Confirm free margin after any withdrawal.

When a direct close is clearer

If the original thesis is invalid, closing can reduce gross exposure and complexity. Hedge only when a written event/exit plan justifies two positions.

Payment-capital implication

Do not deposit more solely to maintain an indefinite lock. Compare the cost of closing with the projected two-leg holding cost and preserve a withdrawal buffer.

No. Both remain open until closed. Verify the current Namibia Personal Area method, ownership, limits, currency, status and supporting evidence first.

No. Trading and holding costs remain.

What happens when one leg closes?

Net exposure and required margin can rise immediately.

Can I withdraw the released margin?

Recalculate remaining-position buffer before any withdrawal.
